The MLX90614 is an infrared thermometer designed for non-contact temperature measurements of objects and ambient surfaces. It integrates an IR-sensitive thermopile detector and a signal-conditioning ASIC within a TO-39 metal package, including a low-noise amplifier, 17-bit ADC, and onboard DSP to deliver high accuracy and resolution. This breakout board version allows simple interfacing with microcontrollers using the I2C protocol and operates from a 3 V to 5 V supply. It is well suited for embedded systems, automation, and thermal monitoring applications requiring contactless sensing.
